| My Client provides switching and protection solutions for electrical distribution systems.
They currently have a requirement for a Sales & Tendering Engineer.
You will be working along side the Senior Sales and Tendering Engineer, the role is primarily internal and is to support the sales and tendering process, by assisting with tendering, administration, Contracts handover, customer handling and sales generation. This will also involve the direct support for the sales team, assisting them with their external activities.
This role would be office based.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
•Support the external sales/export engineers, gather their data and help with the return actions
•Maintenance of Tender Procedures and documentation eg.: Price lists, Tender Templates/Descriptions, Literature/IOMs/Type Test Certs for inclusion in tenders, tenders themselves, skeleton files post Contracts handover.
•Assist with the implementation of a new CRM system into the sales department.
•Maintain and improve the CRM system and data inputted.
•Follow-up tenders to assist sales managers.
•Setting appointments and assistance in getting hold of key contacts.
•Maintenance of the DNO Matrix (probably via CRM).
•Creating and maintaining Standard Price list and structures.
•Tracking deadlines for price increases (Non-Contract).
• Customer Pre-qualifications.
•General backup for targeting non-DNO work.
•Support for UK and Export Distributors.
•Organise quoting of spares and site work to make it more systematic.
•Assist Snr Sales and Tendering Engineer with Bid / Tender Bond Management
•Assist Snr Sales and Tendering Engineer with Equipment Inspections.
•Archive Control
KEY SKILLS
Experience in a similar role preferably with experience of switchgear companies.
Sound understanding of contract terms and conditions.
Competent in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Experience in the implementation and administering of a CRM software system.
Knowledge and experience of tendering engineered equipment for UK and worldwide.
Contract engineering and electrical engineering knowledge.
Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
GCSE in Maths and English / A levels
Degree/HND/GNVQ qualification would be an advantage
