| My Client provides leading-edge technology covering Intelligent Print and Copy Management, Advanced Email Management, Auditing and Surveillance and IT Systems Management.
They currently have a requirement for a Sales Engineer
Main Responsibilities:
• Generating new clients via telephone, email and face to face selling. Existing accounts and leads will be supplied but proactive lead generation will also be expected.
• Selling company solutions within the UK and Ireland – primary focus will initially be
educational organizations – schools, colleges, universities, management groups, Consortia,
Learning Grids, LEAs and resellers who sell products and services in this sector (other target
sectors include public sector, finance and corporate).
Priority focus for this role is email management and then print management – below is a list of areas of spe****ation, in priority order:
o Managed email service – leading-edge spam filtering, anti-virus, content control, logging,
auditing, reporting and archiving capabilities.
o Print and copy management – monitoring, accounting, control and cost-recovery of
network printing and photocopying.
o Directory services management – technical toolkit providing enhanced capability to
manage, query, search, maintain and report on internal Windows/Active Directory and
Novell/eDirectory network environments.
o Auditing and security solutions – providing auditing and reporting of user based network
activity and security assessment reporting enabling compliance with regulatory and
auditor dictates.
Competencies required:
Proven sales ability and sales skills
Sales opportunity management & forecasting
Understanding of IT systems, applications, services and technical terminology
Understanding of sales processes
You will be a high achiever with excellent communication and presentation skills - highly motivated and a dedicated team player.
It is essential that you have the ability to identify new business opportunities within new and existing clients, develop and grow accounts and have the ability to exceed client expectations.
Key requirements:
MUST HAVE SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS SALES EXPERIENCE.
• Previous experience in a sales role with a proven record of achieving targets is essential
• Proven ability to work on own initiative, to deadlines and under pressure is essential
• Experience of working in IT/internet environments with an aptitude and understanding of technical issues.
Main Duties:
1. To manage customers throughout the whole Sales Cycle:
• Prospecting – by cold calling, following up warm customer leads as well as generating
new leads.
• Proposal – to offer solutions and match needs to customers to accurately reflect the
services and products through written or electronic presentations.
• Presentation & demonstrations – to present proposal and demonstrate solutions
either face to face, on the telephone or via web conference.
• Meetings - To set up and attend customer meetings with influential decision makers to
present and demonstrate the company's solutions.
• Negotiations - to negotiate variations in price, delivery and specifications.
• On-going management – to nurture existing relationships and acquire new business
along the way.
2. To manage and maintain accounts with resellers and to generate new leads with resellers.
