| My Client gets involved in the supply of wet wound motors and pumps for use in the power industry across the globe.
The Role
As Sales Manager, based in or near Luton, you would be expected to:
•Lead the sales team and have responsibility for sales globally. Responsibility for the USA market is in co-operation with their US plant.
•To develop, negotiate and agree contract specifications with a variety of external groups, including engineering contractors and end-users.
•Develop and maintain relationships with the engineers and decision makers within the above organizations.
•Development of sales plans and appropriate targets as part of the division's management team. Then achieving the necessary orders to fulfil the plans and targets.
•Involvement in the preparation and generation of quotations forms part of the tasks undertaking.
•Promote internally the products and the customer service necessary to achieve the plans of the Sales Team.
•Spend a reasonable portion of their time (approximately 40%) as the Company's representative in their market areas.
Capabilities, experience and education
The applicant would be expected to have the following capabilities and education:
•Will have a strong sales background within the pumps/rotating equipment sector.
•International sales experience is essential.
•Must have a demonstrable track record of success with technical sales.
•A degree level education or equivalent experience.
•Knowledge of the power and petrochemical industry arena, and ideally power boiler design and operation
•Knowledge of the culture aspects of selling into a worldwide market.
•Experience of leading a sales team.
Remuneration Package
Package will include the following elements:
•Competitive Basic dependant on experience
•37 hour working week
•25 days annual holiday

This role requires a sales manager with a background in rotating equipment with a desire to work in the power generation and oil and gas market. The ideal candidate will build on their experience whilst challenging the boundaries of present market coverage with the support of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic design engineers.
