| My Client is an expanding company within a rewarding and challenging market place. Providing both vacuum & rotary blower products and pumping solutions worldwide, it currently seeks to strengthen its support team through the recruitment of a technical support / project engineer.
The company is looking for a team player that would work closely with its sales activities in providing technical quotations & customer support. There would also be a need to compliment its engineering activities in the way of guidance of its packaged solutions.
The company is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative engineer with a minimum of a degree in Physics, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline. An appreciation of electrical or electronics would be beneficial as well as experience of Solidworks or AutoCAd packages.
The company is very much customer focussed accredited to ISO9001:2000 and strives to continually improve through the implementation of innovative tools and visual supports.
The position would provide the opportunity to travel and needs a person who is able to present themselves technically and professionally to its customers.
Knowledge and experience of the vacuum, rotary blower and positive displacement industries essential.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product selection: quotation of systems and custom pumps.
Product Realisation: generation of documentation to define the custom product.
Product verification: support final testing and verification of the product before shipment.
Product support: technical contact for both internal & external customers.
THE ROLE:
Convert customer needs into a solution, via sizing, selection and identification of the best vacuum pump or pump system solution for the application. Convert such solution into a quote.
Convert customer purchase orders of custom product into a realised product.
Provide technical support to customer service, production, quality, service, sales and customers.
Assist in technical development of external sales force.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
2 years mechanical engineering experience in design and application of vacuum products preferred.
Background in quoting engineering firm specifications.
Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts.
