| My Client is a supplier of products and turn key solutions in manufacturing process control and automation.
They currently have a requirement for a field service engineer to cover the South West Midlands but you may be required to travel further afield within the UK & Europe visiting client sites.
Profile
To provide calibration, breakdown support and installation and commissioning assistance to customers on their sites in a timely fashion.
Main areas of responsibility
1.To carry out traceable and UKAS calibration checks and adjustments on customers' equipment including electrical signal injection, temperature and pressure.
2.To carry out thermal surveys on customers' equipment.
3.To perform first-line product support for all types of measurement and control equipment.
4.To install and commission measurement and control equipment.
5.To work with customers in the UK and Northern Europe.
6.To assist in providing 24:7 breakdown service.
7.To carry out any reasonable requests made by the Management.
Competencies and key performance requirements
•Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise.
•Have an eye for detail and accuracy.
•Thorough in recording and processing data.
•Have a thorough approach to problem solving and fault finding.
•Demonstrate ability to work to company procedures.
•Able to represent the company to customers of all levels.
•Have good communication skills.
•Able to work alone on customers' sites.
Skills, education and experience
You must have worked in a similar field service/maintenance role within the instrumentation sector.
Minimum National Certificate (Electronics) or equivalent.
Current driving licence.
A minimum of three years experience of instrumentation or electronics.
