| Process / Proposals Engineer
My Client supplies water and wastewater treatment plant & equipment, mostly to industrial companies. They are expanding their presence in the pharmaceutical, power and pulp & paper sectors, and are looking for additional staff to form a core part of their team as the company expands further. Their product development is largely driven by the needs of their clients and the results therefore tend to find a ready market.
The Candidate: They are looking for a person who may or may not be a qualified process engineer, but has experience in the design and practical operating conditions of industrial water treatment plants. Ideally that would include experience with ultra-pure water for electronics applications and PW / WFi systems for pharmaceutical clients, therefore including:
1. Filtration systems
2. Membrane treatments including microfiltration, reverse osmosis and
ultrafiltration
3. Conventional and electrolytic deionisation systems
4. De-aeration
5. Sterilisation (UV, SIP & CIP systems)
6. Steam Generation
However, this is not essential as in-house training will be provided
Ideally you will have previous experience in the design and preparation of proposals for wastewater treatment plants, either chemical (inorganic) or biological. This type of knowledge would give the correct candidate rather more potential to grow with the company.
It is particularly important that the selected candidate must have practical,
proven ability and experience and they will therefore give serious consideration to
those with field commissioning and operating experience.
The Correct candidate does not necessarily need a degree, although this level of
qualification is obviously of great interest: just as important is a deeply practical
perspective and drive to succeed and grow with the company.
The Position: Although this position is for a Process Engineer, it will also definitely be partly a Proposals Engineer and Contract Engineer role. It will have a number of wide ranging responsibilities including:
1. Undertaking preliminary process designs and creating primary P&I diagrams
2. Specifying equipment requirements for those process designs
3. Co-ordinating with equipment / system suppliers
4. Preparation of quotations
5. Follow-up, liaison and meetings with clients
6. Assisting in the bringing to market, sales, support and servicing of an
increasing number of water / wastewater treatment products, some of which
will include cutting-edge technologies.
7. Preparation of detailed designs as part of the post-contract team
8. Site visits as appropriate.
For the right candidate, this position has considerable potential for growth and
advancement as the company is growing and planning to introduce new water
treatment products to a wide range of markets, both in the UK and abroad.
Package: Salary: To be negotiated according to the experience of the selected
candidate.
Bonus: Bonuses are considered annually based on the profitability of the
company and the individual's performance. Bonuses are not
guaranteed but can normally be expected if the company is
profitable and the employee is performing satisfactorily.
Car: Depending on the experience of the selected candidate, a company
car may also be provided.
Healthcare: The Company will pay for private healthcare insurance for the
successful candidate who may add other family members at his/her
own cost.
Pension: The Company has organised a stakeholder pension arrangement
for all eligible staff. This arrangement is based on the premise that
the employee will pay into an individual scheme directly from
his/her salary. The company will match the employee's contribution
up to 7½ % of basic salary. The employee may opt to make
additional contributions.
Expenses: The Company will pay all reasonable expenses involved in work on
site on behalf of the company.
