| Business Development Manager/Specification Sales - Construction (Midlands)
Salary: 33-38k basic + Commission + Car + Benefits
Our client has been providing solutions to the construction industry for over 20 years.
Due to their continued expansion they are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager/Specification Manager to focus on the Midlands region (Stoke down to Bristol and across).
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- To sell the company's products to the specified markets / sectors and achieve the agreed company targets in overall sales, split into the various products and markets.
- Based at home, you will be expected to travel throughout the specified region and to Head Office for regular meetings as required to fulfil the requirements of the job.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively seek and secure new business for the company.
- Actively and professionally pursue existing enquiries and develop the sale to completion.
- Support the development and implementation of the Company's vision, values and strategic development, ensuring that the Company becomes a market leader.
- Provide the Commercial Director with reports as necessary and identified.
- Coordinate projects when on site and ensure that the company's standards are upheld.
- Ensure the communication of all sales and technical information are handled effectively to the customer's requirements.
- Implement marketing strategies in conjunction with members of the marketing team.
- Develop strong and trusting relationships with existing key and targeted accounts.
- Promote the collection and dissemination of high quality business / customer information via corporate IT systems to support the decision making process.
- Undertake specific assignments as directed by the Commercial Director as and when required.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- It is anticipated that candidates will be mature and possess at least 5 years' appropriate experience. This probably will have been gained through working within various organisations, mainly in the sales environment, at various levels and with other construction industry professionals.
- Working knowledge of the specification environment and specification breaking
- A thorough knowledge of the construction industry would be a benefit, combined with business acumen.
- A track record that demonstrates the ability to implement and deliver the strategic sales plan.
- Good IT skills are essential, to support daily communications, report writing, use of information systems and preparation and delivery of presentations.
- A full driving license.

- An ability to establish ‘comfortable' working relationships with all levels of colleagues and business partners, both current and prospective
- A confident social manner that ensures appropriate etiquette in both formal and informal business gatherings is maintained.
Academic / Professional Qualifications
Building Services or and Architectural qualification,
Or Business Studies, Marketing or Economics Degree
Or other professional qualification
